About Us:
Our story began not in a flashy boardroom with venture capital, but from a simple, practical need. In 2017, the founders of Clutch Consulting were running their own small business, facing the same daily hurdles that countless entrepreneurs across the country encounter.
They saw firsthand how thin margins, operational bottlenecks, and inefficient procurement could stifle growth and create unnecessary stress.
Determined to solve these problems for themselves, they began a rigorous, internal process of analysis and optimization. They dissected every expense, renegotiated every contract, and streamlined every workflow.
The result was a leaner, more resilient, and more profitable operation.
This internal success became the blueprint for Clutch Consulting LLC. Our first client was, in fact, our own company-owned entity. It served as our laboratory and our proof of concept. For over a year, we honed our methodologies within this controlled environment, creating a repeatable system for identifying and eliminating operational waste. We mastered the art of leveraging technology for efficiency and developed a keen eye for negotiating terms that favored the small business, not just the large-scale vendor.
We proved that significant, sustainable cost savings were achievable without compromising the quality of service or the integrity of the business.
Armed with a validated model and tangible results, we cautiously expanded our services. Our first external clients were fellow small business owners within our network who recognized the value of our practical, no-nonsense approach.
We intentionally focused our efforts on a specific, often-overlooked segment of the market: U.S.-based businesses with under 100 employees.
We understood that these companies are the lifeblood of the American economy, yet they are frequently too small to attract the attention of major consulting firms and too busy to dedicate internal resources to the kind of deep operational analysis we provided. Our growth was deliberate and organic, built on a reputation for delivering measurable financial improvements, not just abstract strategies.
As we worked closely with more and more businesses, we observed a recurring pattern. Some owners had built incredible companies but were approaching retirement with no succession plan. Others had reached a plateau and needed a significant infusion of capital and strategic management to break through to the next level. A new dimension of our mission began to take shape. Consulting was effective, but in certain cases, a deeper partnership could unlock even greater potential. This led to our evolution into a holding company.
Our first acquisition was a natural progression—a long-term client whose owner was ready to exit. We saw the opportunity to not only preserve the legacy he had built but to fully integrate our operational principles from an ownership perspective.
Since then, Clutch has continued on this dual path.
We provide targeted consulting services to help small businesses thrive independently, and we selectively acquire promising companies, providing them with long-term stability and strategic direction.
Today, our consulting is informed by our direct experience as owners, and our acquisitions are guided by the insights we gain from our diverse client base. We remain committed to our founding principle: empowering the small business backbone of America through practical, impactful, and sustainable growth.
